About MapTools for Canada

MapTools for Canada is the newest branch of the MapTools family - free, privacy-first mapping tools, already running at maptools.uk for the UK, at maptools.co for the US, and at maptools.co/au/ for Australia. It's being built from the ground up for Canada, not a US, UK, or AU tool with the labels changed.

What's live

The Postal Code and Address Mapper is live - paste Canadian postal codes or addresses and see each one placed on a map at the best precision the information actually supports. It's the first tool built on the Canadian address data below, not a port of a US, UK, or AU one. See the homepage for the full tool list, and tell us what you'd want built next.

Where the data comes from

Canadian address data comes from Statistics Canada's National Address Register, an authoritative, georeferenced list of civic addresses across Canada, released under the Statistics Canada Open Licence. Full attribution and licensing detail is on the Credits & Data Sources page.

Privacy First

Free tools run in your browser, and we don't store or log what you search. Looking up a Canadian address or postal code does fetch the data for that postal area from our own servers, so a lookup isn't purely local, but nothing about your search is kept. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy, which currently covers the whole maptools.co domain including this section.

Who's building this

MapTools is built and maintained by Dan. The Canada site is a deliberate extension of the existing US, UK, and Australia sites, not a separate project - same privacy-first principles, same free-forever model, built properly for Canadian data rather than rushed out.
